Mission of the CCBD Foundation

The CCBD Foundation is a philanthropic partner of the Council for Children with Behavioral Disorders (CCBD). It was founded in 1997 to support CCBD’s mission of supporting the professional development and enhancing the expertise of those who work on behalf of children with challenging behavior and their families, through the issuance of grants and scholarships.

The Foundation provides members of the educational, research, and wider communities who share a commitment to students with EBD with a way to combine their efforts, merging their donations into awards in specific priority areas that have a high impact on students and their classrooms. These are:

  • Funding projects, programs, and curricula for students with EBD
  • Enabling educators to attend professional development events related to EBD
  • Awarding scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a career working with students with EBD
  • Recognizing leaders in the field

The Foundation's activities are supported by individual and organizational donations, as well as the proceeds from social events held at CCBD-affiliated conferences. The CCBD Foundation is a Section 501© (3) non-profit organization.
